Minister of the RCA and professor at Western Theological Seminary, 1895-1904. Born in Zontkamp, the Netherlands, 1836. A.B. from Rutgers College, 1860; NBTS 1863; D.D. from Heidelberg University and Hope, 1890. Served the churches of Cuddebackville, New York, 1863-1866; First, Pella, Iowa, 1866-1884; Second, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 1884-1895.
