Graduated from New Brunswick Theological Seminary in 1919. He served as pastor of Melvin Reformed Church (Iowa), 1919-1922; Third Reformed Church (Muskegon, Michigan), 1922-1925; and Seventh Reformed Church (Holland, Michigan), 1925-1947. Papers include sermon outlines from 1921-1946, sermon books from 1920-1946 (Dutch/English), and his personal Bible (Dutch).
