Robert A. Nykamp was born in Hamilton, Michigan, in 1933. A. B. Hope College, 1955; B. D. Western Theological Seminary, 1958; licensed and ordained in the Reformed Church through the Classis of Holland in 1958; accepted a call at Ross Church in Gary, Indiana, 1958-1964. In 1964, he became pastor at Hope Church in Chicago, Illinois. In 1965, he accepted a professorship at Western Theological Seminary, staying until 1977. In 1977, Nykamp left WTS on a call to Bayshore Gardens Church in Bradenton, Florida.
