Biography

Emma Marie Reeverts received her A.B. degree from Hope College in 1920 and her M.A. degree from the University of Michigan in 1935. Before joining the Hope College faculty in 1946, her teaching experience included positions at Wisconsin Memorial Academy, Cedar Grove, Wisconsin; the Academy of Central College, Pella, Iowa; Bunker Junior High School, Muskegon, Michigan; Annville Institute, Annville, Kentucky; and Berea Academy and College, Berea, Kentucky.

In 1946, Reeverts was appointed Associate Professor of English at Hope College and became Dean of Women in 1947. She retired in 1963. After her retirement, she returned to Berea College as part-time instructor in English until 1968.
